Both the final year post graduate students and Dr. M. Jayaprakashvel, Assistant Professor from Department of Biotechnology have participated and presented papers in the National Conference on Advances in Plant Pathology held during 11-12, March 2010 at Centre for Advanced Studies in Botany, University of Madras. A total of 8 research papers from Department of Biotechnology, AMET University and a collaborative paper were accepted for both oral and poster presentation in the Conference. Dr. M. Jayaprakashvel has been awarded for the best oral presentation for his presentation entitled “Consideration of quorum sensing principles for the development of synergistically performing consortium of bacterial biocontrol agents”. He has also been honored to convene a Technical Session on Integrated Disease Management.
On 26-03-2010, three of our students Mr. Jacky Bhagat, Mr.C. Kaarthikeyan and Mr. S. Gobalakrishnan have participated and presented research papers in the National Seminar on Biotechnological Applications in Human Welfare, organized by Department of Biotechnology University of Madras. Mr. Jacky Bhagat has won the FIRST prize for best oral presentation entitled SIDEROPHORE PRODUCING ANTAGONISTIC RHIZOBACTERIA FROM COASTAL SAND DUNE VEGETATION
